Varying Marriage License Fees:

Fees for marriage licenses range from a low of $10 to as much as $115. The cost varies based on county, city or municipality, residential status, and in some cases, completion of a pre-marital counseling or education course. A few states, have standard, statewide fees.

Plan Ahead:

Some states require a waiting period before the license is issued.  You donít want to cut yourself short on time.

Identification:

  Some states require ID. Commonly accepted forms of ID are driversí licenses, birth certificates, social security cards and passports.  

Medical Records:

Some municipalities require blood tests or other medical records such as a physical exam. You may need to provide the results furnished by your doctor.

Payment:

There is a fee for the marriage license. Check with the municipality first & be prepared - some places will only accept cash in the exact amount. 

Presence:

Many places expect both bride and groom to be there when applying to sign the application, sometimes a witness may be required as well.
